Unveiling Navtara: Our Journey Through Time
In the year 1986, founder Carlos Tavora, hailing from a Goan Catholic family, embarked on a mission to cater to the growing demand for vegetarian cuisine in Goa, a burgeoning holiday destination. Despite lacking experience in both cuisine and the restaurant industry, Carlos boldly established Navtara. Starting as a modest 150-seat South Indian eatery on August 22, 1986, Carlos’s meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication soon made Navtara a trusted household name for locals and tourists alike.
Fast forward to 1997, Navtara Veg Restaurant underwent a transformation into a Multi-Cuisine Vegetarian Restaurant, expanding its offerings to include Punjabi, Mughlai, Goan, Chinese, North and South Indian dishes. This evolved model has been replicated across Goa, starting with the Mopusa restaurant in 2005, with many more locations following suit.
