South Goa can be best described as the most relaxed and surreal place that has various romantic beaches, rustic villages, leisurely vibes, and remnants of Portuguese architecture. When you visit a new city you also want to experience the different cuisines and food options, which that place has to offer, but some people like me, want to stick to their conventional food choices especially when you are a vegetarian. But, I was lucky enough to be able to find among the best restaurants in South Goa “Navtara”.
People often have a misconception about Goa that non vegetarian food and seafood primarily dominate Goan restaurants. But, restaurants like Navtara have made things simple for pure vegetarians. Navtara is one of the best restaurant in South Goa, if not the best, that specifically offers vegetarian food. This is a multi cuisine restaurant catering to the needs of people like us. With 10 branches all around Goa, it is very easy to locate while you are touring the city.
This restaurant has a wide range of food options to choose from. Navtara started as a south Indian restaurant but with their progress and growing demand, it soon became a multi cuisine restaurant and among the best restaurants in South Goa. You can visit this place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their Paneer lajawaab and mango mastani are worth try options. Navtara has a huge number of footfalls but their services are pretty prompt. The ambiance is decent and items are reasonably priced.
1.) Benaulim: Palm trees swaying in their full glory, sun kissing coconut trees and magnificent sunrises and sunsets. This is what makes Benaulim beach of South Goa a must visit destination. It is a great place to relax a bit away from the crowds at other beaches. If you are a seafood lover then you can try the delicious seafood or visit one of the best restaurants in South Goa Navtara for the vegetarian meals.
2.) Vasco de Gama: Tourists prefer this place as it is quite different from the other parts of Goa. It is one of the oldest place and famous for Sao Jacinto island, Naval aviation museum, and bogmalo Beach.I reached this place via Bus from Panjim after having my delicious breakfast meal at Navtara, among the best restaurants in South Goa so far.
3.) Agonda: This beach makes it to the list for the serenity and calmness it offers to the visitors. With a beautifully constructed church in the center of the beach, this place becomes even more alluring.
4.) Chandor: This place is located on the banks of river Kushavati originally named as Chandrapur. If you have a penchant for ancient Portuguese relics and history then Portuguese mansion in Chandor is a must visit. After visiting Chandor on my way back I had my dinner at Navtara Margao, I do not know how, but this restaurant for me became the best restaurant in South Goa.
Once you have visited these places then do not forget to drop in Navtara and taste their scrumptious food. I know that there are plenty of restaurants in Goa but Navtara holds its own unique place and is also one of the best restaurants in South Goa.
